But neither was architected for customer intelligence.
What building customer intelligence on the Microsoft stack actually requires
The typical starting point: "We're all in on Microsoft. Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Dynamics. Let's build customer intelligence there."
Then your product team asks: "What are the top reasons enterprise customers are churning?" And you realize the limits.
Copilot can summarize one conversation. It can't aggregate patterns across 3,000 support tickets, 800 survey responses, and scattered Slack threads without a layer that normalizes, classifies, and quantifies. That's architecture.

Regression testing. Do your themes stay consistent as feedback volume grows? Are new themes being captured? Do your counts hold up month-over-month? Fabric doesn't have built-in monitoring for classification drift. You add it. You test it. You maintain it.
Governance infrastructure. Customer Intelligence data has to meet compliance, audit, and security requirements. That's your responsibility on Fabric, in addition to everything else.
Business UX finally. Your product manager doesn't speak Fabric. They don't think in notebooks or Power BI DAX. They think in workflows: I have accounts, show me the signals, let me act on them. You build that interface. Or you accept that customer teams can't self-serve.
You're not building a feature. You're building a platform.
Why Fabric doesn't close the gap for Customer ?Intelligence?
Fabric solves persistence. It doesn't solve intelligence.
Power BI Text Analytics explicitly doesn't support topic modelling. So you can't auto-detect themes. There's no native theme detection, no clustering. You need custom code.
